Ranbir Kapoor as a NRI in Rajneeti

Ranbir Kapoor is playing the role of an NRI who is forced to return home to take over the family business which is politics. Doesn’t it sound familiar as Abhishek Bachchan played a similar role in Sarkar by Ram Gopal Varma.

Both the characters are inspired by the character Michael Corleone played by Al Pacino in The Godfather by Francis Coppola. Rajneeti has Ranbir playing a character which is a mixture of Rajiv Gandhi and Don Michael Corleone.

He plays the role of a US based NRI educated from Harvard University who has to suddenly return home to look after his mother’s political empire.

He will be trendily dressed up in the movie like any other young man of today.

Katrina plays as a co-star in this movie as well but with a difference. She gives long speeches in pure Hindi without getting them dubbed whereas in Sarkar her anglo-accented voice had to be dubbed.
