Tahaan Movie Review

Purav Bhandare, the central character in Santosh Sivan’s TAHAAN, has elbowed Darsheel Safary, the child star of TAARE ZAMEEN PAR out of his top slot. There was no written confirmation about the fact that Darsheel was on top of the heap, but the fact that he now endorses so many products and is seen so often on television is a fair enough barometer. Bhandare goes one up; he has tremendous screen presence, is a fabulous actor and has brought alive the character of Tahaan to endear himself to the viewers, just like Safary did in TZP.

The long awaited featured latest Bollywood release Kidnap, could not really impress all the die hard Bollywood fans, although it has succeeded in sustaining in the box office listing as of now.

The overall performance of Imran Khan has been pretty much quite ordinary and rather disappointing, in comparison to the cool Jaane Tu Yaa Jaane Naa action!

Directed by Sanjay Gadhvi, Kidnap had high hopes of creating a buzz in the box office, however it failed to even come anywhere close the standards of Jaane Tu Yaa Jaane Naa, and Minissha Lamba couldn’t really make any difference to the movie either!

Bollywood is the Buzzword Even in US!

The Indian film industry popularly known as Bollywood, is not only famous in the country but also in other parts of the world as it’s undoubtedly one of the world’ biggest cinema industry covering the film production, theatrical exhibition as well as distribution.

The ever-green city of Bombay, which is known as Mumbai now, is the urban trendsetter of the nation having a massive crowd crazy about the film industry. It is nestled in nation’s extreme western corner, towards the edge of the Arabian Sea, making it a lovely peaceful place.

But as far as the Bollywood fans are concerned they are not limited to either Mumbai, or India as a whole. There are thousands of BollyWood fans across the globe, especially in the U.S., wherein the majority of the Indian immigrants prefer the local theatres that show Bollywood box office hits rather than the sizzling Hollywood blockbusters!

The likes of Jaane Tu Jaane Na, featuring Imran Khan had been a great hit and created a buzz all over New York, Chicago, Boston and other parts of the United States. Not only did the movie run really well, but it even kicked out the currently running Hollywood counter-parts in due course and recorded house full shows for first couple of weeks.

Same had been the case with other Bollywood classics like Kal Ho Na Ho, which was actually produced in New York City, and had recorded an astonishing 18days continuous streak of jam-packed shows!

All the Indians in the U.S. enjoy the Bollywood blockbusters and many Desi immigrants even love to enjoy the ever-famous first day first show of the latest release!

But the recent releases have not been doing that great in the Bollywood box office. Kidnap has been mostly a big disappointment to many of the viewers, who were expecting a lot more from the movie as well as Imran khan, who had built a great rapport with the crowd after the featured movie Jaane Tu Jaane Na!

Drona hasn’t done well either, in fact Drona has been rather a much bigger disappointment to the crowd than Kidnap! Many amongst the crowd have appreciated the silent message sent through the movie Kidnap, however undeniably a lot more could have been delivered from Imran Khan as well as the movie as a whole.

On the other hand, Drona has been immensely criticized by most of the people in the Abhishek fan club; however some of the loyal fans are still living on with their blind trust in King Abhishek!

Hopefully we can expect couple of mega blockbuster hits in near future to make up for the current disappointment in the crowd!
