The trend of typical masala movies began with Wanted, which was successfully followed by the super-hit Dabangg. There weren’t too many great bollywood movies worth reviewing (like Murder 2!) so we weren’t really presenting any bollywood movie reviews, but here comes Singham!
Star Cast: Ajay Devgan, Kajal Agarwal, Prakash Raj, Sonali Kulkarni
Director: Rohit Shetty
Ajay Devgan has continued the trend in Singham, which is a remake of tamil film titled same. Rakesh Kadam, a innocent police officer gets trapped by the pranks played by a powerful criminal/politician Prakash Raj that makes him to commit suicide. SI’s wife (Sonali Kulkarni) goes in search of Justice, but finds nothing other than humiliation, dishonour, shame etc.

Ajay plays a role of diligent cop Bajirao Singam of Shivgad, a small village on the border of Goa and Maharashtra, where he settles every dispute patiently with his gentle talks. Then the entry of Kavya(Kajal Agarwal), who plays Ajay’s love interest. Everything seems to be marked by good fortune until Jaykant Shikre (Prakash Raj) comes across Shivgad.
Singum, who fights against prejudice and injustice using his own policies against the morals and beliefs of Prakash Raj that forces him to post Singham in the ruling city of Jaykant Shikre. As they lock horns, things take a different turn in second half, where antagonist leaves no stone unturned to make Ajay’s life a nightmare to live.

Ajay’s supportive girlfriend with Sonali Kulkarni makes him realize the importance to bring a change in the system by destroying the root cause, following the law of force. Singham with his all police force ends the life of victim effectively.
On performance levels, Ajay is outstanding, flaunting his six-pack perfectly. You can get to see how hard he has worked to get this avatar. Though Kajal didn’t get too much of a role, she did a good job for whatever little. There isn’t too much romance between Ajay and Kajal either; it can’t be regarded as an ideal Bollywood debut for Kajal, nonetheless she’s enjoying a successful movie rather than bearing flop shows like Boom as Kat did!
Prakash Raj’s acting is simply marvelous; he has proved that he can deliver a slapstick comic caper. If you’ve liked him in Wanted, then you must watch him in Singham too.
Rohit Shetty proves that he too can deliver a masala flick. There’s no humdrum or boring moment at all throughout those 2+ hours.
The movie has a number of actors in supporting roles, especially Govind Namdev, Ashok Saraf, MurlSi Sharma, and Sonali Kulkarni.
Some crappy comedy tracks are isn’t that great; Rohit Shetty should have worked more on this impact to make Singham a complete package of entertainment for his devoted fans.
We conclude this Singham movie review with an overall verdict that it’s a full-on masala film, one of the sure-shot hits to roar at the box-office.
