In Time Movie Review

In Time is one of those rare concepts that definitely gives you something to think about – although quite unrealistic, but it’s just that “what if” factor that really adds appeal to the movie.

The director has posed that silent question to real world and mankind – what if you could actually see how much time you had left, and what would you do in that time – would you live the moment, or just keep buying more time, and die without actually enjoying life to the fullest?

Anyway, coming back to the plot – folks discover the secret to stop aging at 25, but they get a “life timer” on their wrists as a payback – when the clock hits 0, a person times out – i.e. dies! And, then the daily life runs with time rather than money, and in literal sense time becomes money! 30 minutes for a good lunch, 5 minutes for a cup of coffee and so on…

Justin Timberlake is the heart and soul of the movie, though he still needs to improve as an actor to say the least… Amanda Seyfried slowly makes her presence felt towards the end, while Cillian Murphy (who made his presence very well felt in 28 Days Later and Batman Begins) has also done good justice to his part.

The movie is all about the race against time, and then in due course of movie, it is slowly shown how the rich get richer, poor get poorer, and die as they’re not able to manage with rising inflation, and they keep getting timed out as they don’t have enough money (i.e. time in this case) to survive.

Justin Timberlake feels the pain as he sees his mother getting timed out in front of his own eyes, and accidentally hits a jackpot as he rescues a 100+ person from muggers in the pub, but that man gifts him 100 years, and times himself out!

He travels to a different time-zone where he always wanted to take his mother, and meets Amanda, who is the daughter of financial head of that zone, and just like every good ‘ol movie, both of them fall in love.
She elopes with her secret love without letting her father know, and everyone feels that she has been kidnapped, and then surprisingly Justin demands the ransom as one million hours for his time zone where tons of people keep getting timed out just because they’re unable to cope up with rising inflation rates…

Then on, there’s just action packed sequence worth a watch as the duo keeps looting one bank after the other, and distributing time to the needy, and the saga continues… (yeah that’s how the movie ends too!)

If you ask me personally, I liked the concept a lot, and even the execution was pretty decent, so I’m giving it a 3.5 stars – grab a DVD today and njoy!

Happy Feet 2 Movie Review

If you were impressed by the first part of the stunning, yet psychedelic animation of Happy Feet, then we would assure that the second part won’t disappoint you at all – add to it, the fun and thrill of 3D (if you’re planning to watch the 3D version) effects.

Just in case of every other animated movie, the way Kung Fu Panda becomes martial art king in 2nd part, tap dancing champion in the 1st part of Happy Feet isn’t the only focus; the second part isn’t only about Mumble, but also about his son Erik, who is different, just like his father and has an extreme desire to fly!

Story Line

Erik realizes that he has 2 left feet and decides to fly and run away with lying penguin Sven and his “uncle” Ramon, and Adelie leader Lovelace. His father manages to track them and get back them safely. However, on their journey back home, they find out lofty iceberg that has ambushed the majority of monarch population and how Mumble and Erik save them.

Happy Feet Two explores the often disturbing impact of humans on the surroundings and their wildlife that lives in that environment.

The marvelously crafted animals capture the wonder of wildlife, and try to have relationship between all the possible creatures there.

Happy Feet 2 exemplifies that interconnectedness of all creatures a bit more manifestly than would actually happen in nature; on the whole, whatever is going on in the animated movie is just remarkable.

The movie has all the eye-popping animation technique with the 3D effects, and I guess 2D version would be a little dull (I saw in 3D, so I’m not sure how good 2D version really is!). Overall, it does provide an opportunity to parents to discuss our impact on the environment, and show the kids how the food chain works, with the story of Bill and Will, while it is certainly aim at children. On the whole, it’s a nice one-time watch.

The King’s Speech Movie Review

The King’s Speech is based on a historical event of King George VI. The plot of the movie is very simple but interesting and inspiring. The movie stars with Colin Firth as King George VI and his speech therapist Geoffrey Rush as Lionel Rogue.

This is basically twentieth century British drama based on historical facts and fiction.

Plot

In the year 1939, most of the world was under the rule of King George VI with even Germany in the middle of the war.

In the movie, King George VI stammers a lot, and is unable to speak freely. His will to become a king was not much but circumstances led him to become one.

His stammering was not acceptable to people due to long pauses he used to take, and the lack of good speech. Therefore, he hires a speech therapist who works on his stammering to overcome the problem.

It is a story of a man compelled by circumstances to speak up though he knows he would stammer and mess up everything. So, you just got to watch it and enjoy, and at the same time take a lesson as to how dogged-determination can help you achieve a feat in life, which you may have never dreamed of.

No Strings Attached Movie Review

Well, as the tag-line says, No Strings Attached is the story of two so-called sex friends turned lovers – Emma (Natalie Portman), and Adam (Ashton Kutcher), who enter each other’s life by having casual sex one morning.

The movie kicks off in a really funny way, and delivers perfect blend of humor, emotions, comedy, and drama. There’s nothing much to the story-line, as Adam is shown to be a guy who’s desperate to have sex with someone since he discovers his father to be having sex with his ex-girlfriend (yeah wtf!).

He’s really drunk badly, and ends up in Emma’s house (Emma’s family is from medical background), and they have sex casually, thinking that nobody would remember this incident, and they’ll move on. But, to the contrary, Adam starts liking Emma, and follows her everywhere.

They start having sex at her hospital, Adam’s place, Emma’s place, and all possible places in the city! (yes that’s the fun part!), while Adam is still upset about what his father has done; Adam calls them f***-buddies!

After few days, Emma says that she doesn’t want to continue this sex-relationship (as she doesn’t believe in relationships etc), and asks Adam to find another girl to have sex, and she also decides to do the same.

This is where the story takes a twist, as Emma realizes that what she was calling a relation with “No Strings Attached” is actually love, and she somehow manages to make it to Adam’s place to prevent him from having relationship with other girls.

I really liked the humor in the story, and those funny scenes in the movie that give life to it. As far as story-line is concerned, there’s simply nothing to it.

Adam and Emma continue to have sex day and night, but Emma continues to take it as just a part of life, while Adam has true feelings for her. On valentine’s eve, Adam asks Emma out for a date, and they’ve lot of fun. However, as the day comes to an end, Adam asks for commitment, and Emma refuses to do so – and they break-up!

Then there’s nothing much to the story, as Adam tries to move on with a colleague, while Emma finds herself really lonely, and on her sister’s wedding, she misses Adam a lot, and calls him up! Pretty soon they bump into each other again, in front of hospital as Adam’s dad is hospitalized, dumped by Adam’s ex-girlfriend.

As expected, finally, Adam and Emma patch up, and the relation that had flourished with “No Strings Attached” does get two strings of love and belief, and they turn into life partners!

Overall, I enjoyed the movie, and I’d recommend it to those who want to have a good time with friends/fiancee/spouse.

127 Hours Movie Review: The Shittiest Ever!

127 hours is one of the most absurd, stupid, and horrendous movies (not crappy – it’s worse than rotten tomatoes, and words are NOT ENOUGH to describe the standard of this piece of shit!) I’ve seen in past few years.

It’s a real story of a rock climber Aron Ralston’s (James Franco) who goes on an adventurous trip, and his hand gets trapped beneath a huge rock.

Basically, there’s literally nothing in the movie, and you simply waiting for something to happen; but it never happens, since there’s simply nothing in it!

The movie is all about how that idiotic guy gets himself trapped beneath the rock, how he struggles to get out, by cutting his own hand, bearing all the torture (and torturing the viewers!) and hardship.

Oh yeah and by the way, the movie is A-rated – so you ask why the f*** – well yeah, just excessive usage of the F*** word, and few unnecessary scenes where girls strip themselves (but don’t show anything though lol!), and excessive gore is what gets the movie an A-rating!

It’s my sincere advise to all those who’re reading this review – DON’T ever bother watching it in theaters; otherwise you’ll regret every minute you stay inside, and hell yeah it’s not even worth spending a penny on renting a DVD either!

If I could give a negative rating, then perhaps I’d have given it a MINUS 5 out of +5, but I’m giving it half stars out of 5 for those occasional funny dialogues, and scenes that gave some life to this piece of scum!!!

Even if you’ve nothing to do, I’d say you’d be better off throwing stones into water, or walking around, rather than seeing this garbage! If I could possibly get my hands on producer/director, I’d beat them to death to get my money back, which I literally WASTED for buying the movie ticket! (and my 1.5hours of time too!)

“Twilight Zone — the movie”, is based on youngster vampire-romance novel by author Stephenie Meyer, and you simply can’t stop watching the movie numerous times even after reading those countless twilight movie reviews, isn’t it?

So, I just thought that I’d express my thoughts on the movie, and write a brief review too. Well, here goes another review of twilight zone the movie (this is my version – I know you must have read hundreds of them already, so I’m not going to bug you with any junk here!)

The twilight movie starts with the introduction of hot Bella Swan, who stays with her mother and step father in Arizona.

Bella decides to go back to Washington to stay with her father Charlie Swan, a Police Chief. Even though Bella joins school in the middle of the year, she manages making friendship with nice group of chicks, and dudes, and that’s where she meets Edward Cullen, a vampire who kills humans to nourish, but simply too hot to resist!

Edward is attracted to Bella not only because she smells delicious, but also because she looks super hot. Bella and Edward fall in love with each other and here it begins the forbidden relationship between a vampire and a human.

As their relationship builds up, they face lot many problems. Jacob, a wolf and Edward’s dad plays an important role in saving Bella’s life, who is a doctor by profession.

The Good

Robert Pattinson as Edward, Kristen Stewart as Bella, Billy Burke as Bella’s dad and of course Peter Facinelli as Dr.Cullen did a really great job. Taylor Lautner as Jacob did a decent job. I liked Robert Pattinson despite of his severely sculpted eyebrows and his extraordinary head of hair.

Not that good about Twilight

There are not as many romantic moments between Bella and Edward as there are in the novel. I wonder how these vampires manage to live alongside humans!

The Bad

If you read the novel, it’s always a different feeling all together, trying to image those sensual moments that Stephenie Meyer has described, and feeling the thrill as the story moves on to climax. But, in the movie, they’ve killed some of the excitement that Stephenie Meyer had created through the novel.
