Deepika Padukone, a former model and Indian actress, daughter of well-known badminton player, Prakash Padukone was born on 5 Jan, 1986.
She began modeling during her studies and is better known as kingfisher calendar girl; her debut movie was Aishwarya (Kannada) in 2006 and she gave a blockbuster hit in her next Hindi debut- Farah Khan’s Om Shanti Om, starring opposite SRK, following the next biggest hit Love Aaj Kal (2009), Karthik Calling Karthik (2010) and Houseful.
She appeared in the item number in Dum Maaro Dum, performing for a remixed version of the original song from Zeenat Aman’s Hare Rama Hare Krishna; she scorched auditions from her seductive dance moves, wearing a small skirt, which was auctioned for a huge amount.
In addition to acting, she is the brand ambassador of Kingfisher Airlines, Tissot, Nescafe, and Sony Cybershot.
