It is the season of love, romance, affection, sweet-looking greeting cards, and heart shaped red colour balloons. In this valentine’s month, Karan Johar has made a nice attempt to release the romantic comedy flick Ek main aur ekk tu, but it didn’t impress us too much, though we’d definitely say it’s a decent one-time watch!

Star Cast: Imran Khan, Kareena Kapoor
Director: Shakun Batra
Producer: Karan Johar
The Story Line
The movie is neither on the epic side like Dharma Production’s grand ancestors nor overloaded by a pop culture, but in a simple story line, it defines the younger generation, and their acts.
She is white chocolate and he is just like cream cheese – the perfect mismatch, as they call it! But these two tasty ingredients have mixed to create a light, smooth-textured, tasty cheese cake.
Like every love story, there is a boy and girl; this story is based in the city where the saying goes – What Happens if you stay in Las Vegas.

Rahul Kapoor (Imran), an average young man (who belongs to a rich family), who is set to take over his dad’s business. He is working in LV to get experience in architecture filed, but actually isn’t that successful in his profession, constantly pushed around by his mother.
Riana Braganza (Kareena), a hairstylist working in Vegas, is yet another freak, who isn’t too bothered about her career either… Her character in the movie has been directly been inspired by “Jab We Met” – a gal who speaks a lot than required and feels happy for no obvious reason.
The boring boy and free spirited girl meet in bar in Vegas and they bon over vodkas and they wake up next morning and come to know that they are married couples!

Meanwhile Riana loses her rented flat and starts staying with Rahul and as usual, they start liking each other’s company.
Rahul’s dad (Boman Irani), is very ambitious and can do anything for business and his wife (Ratna Pathak), who is vapid socialite!
Now the twist comes when Rianna invites Rahul to her home in India to take a short break, and save him from the misery of feeling useless and jobless in Vegas. They fly to India and there is a lot of stereotyping (as expected) – Riana teaches him the value of friendship, but he mistakes her acts as sign of love!

The whole movie is about 2 diagonally opposite personalities; the boy leads a bland life, while the girl is full of life. As expected, North Pole attracts South Pole. So what’s new – well, the ending sure could have been better, but Karan Johar decides to end it just like Hum Tum (perhaps to keep the options open for making a sequel!)
The accidental marriage idea is taken more as a gimmick and it doesn’t contribute anything to the story, but the biggest mistake in their life turns good.
The music is fairly good, including title song and happy number ‘Aunty Ji’, and of course the title track ‘Ek main hu aur ekk tu”
The film loses its grip here and there, but director has avoided too much mush-mush. Bebo look beautiful and doesn’t look older than Imran, thanks to her makeup artists. She has played similar chirpy roles before, but looks absolutely adorable and it is fun to watch her.

Imran Khan, who is fit for role of the high-strung guy and his deadly expressions, comes naturally. Though their chemistry isn’t that great, we didn’t get irate till the very end, watching the two of them!
It is not that kind of movie you mind watching and just remember, you don’t miss anything imaginative if you don’t watch. You can watch this movie alone, but will be good if you watch Ek Main Aur Ekk Tu movie with hands chained to your partner. And, yeah njoy the valentine’s season!
